The MarineOmics working group is funded by the RCN for Evolution in Changing Seas to promote reproducible and robust genomic research in evolutionary biology and marine science.
We are hosting a series of virtual Q & A panel seminars with 3-5 experts on topics ranging from RADseq, population genomics with WGS, and transcriptomics. Panelists will discuss each topic, with questions coming from the working group and the audience. Seminars are every two weeks, on Fridays from 11:00am-12:15pm US Central Time. Our first panel seminar on GBS/RADseq is at 11am CST on Friday May 7. For more information on the seminar series and to register for talks, please visit the website: https://marineomics.github.io/

Announcing a new remote research opportunity this spring for undergraduates! The NSF-funded Research Coordinated Network (RCN) for Evolution in Changing Seas is hiring three undergraduates (sophomore or higher) for a 9-week remote, part-time, $3,000 paid research internship to begin March 1st. The research interns will be collaborating with a working group of 8 graduate students/postdocs and 2 faculty members from across the U.S. and Canada to evaluate and develop guidelines for genomics research in marine biology. Students from groups presently and historically underrepresented in STEM are particularly encouraged to apply, and no prior research experience is required. Instructions for how to apply can be found here:
